Bullet seating a 6.5 / 06

I'm quite new to reloading, and want to know the best way to find the best bullet seating depth for my 6.5 06. How do I get the projectile just back from the rifling. Any help with this would be great.

I just bought a Stoney Point gauge. Simple and around $30. Plus another $4 for each caliber case.

The sinclair OAL tool has been one of the best things I have purchaseed. The best thing is it uses a fired case from your chamber to get a reading.
