FerdinandRe: Need Recipes for 45 ACP
I'm not sure about the particulars of your gun. However, all .45's that I have ever owned seemed to do well with just about any slug loaded over Winshester 231 - and especially do their best with 200 grain lead semi-wad cutters. 231 seems to burn almost completely and provides good accuracy. However, it won't safely deliver the highest potential velocity, if that's what you are after. Check yor reloading manuals. Winchester has one on line that you can download.

7-30 WatersJust ordered a Taurus Tracker in 45 ACP. Would appreciate if anyone would share their favorite loads for this cartridge.

Lar45I like 700X with a 230 LRN. I use 4.2gns in a Mil surplus TZZ case. The TZZ brass is very good and will last a long time.

Bwana-beI have ALWAYS had great success using 230g JHP's and Blue Dot.
AA7 is right there with it, as well.
Try 7g, +.5g up to maybe 9.5g or so, as your gun likes. (That's Ble Dot.)
It'll very likely give you the highest velocities, but it's almost twice the powder as some of the others (Unique, Clays, etc) that do well 50-70fps below max, so keep that in mind; it does affect recoil. Maybe another 25% or so over a 5g load doing 50 fps less.
200 grain bullet over 5.0 gr. Bullseye is an oldie but a goodie. Shoots very well, and feels great, easy on the gun and brass.
