.44 mag Target Loads ...
I have been using 6.5 gr. W231. Very comfortable to shoot and accurate however very sooty and smokey.

Does anyone else out there have a pet load that they have found works well for them?

I've been using 8.0grs of W231 with a 215 gr. Cast SWC at 985 fps from a 4" barrel. I use W231 in a lot of pistol loads. I thought it burned fairly clean, at least compared to Unique.

Come on folks...

No one has a target load for .44 Mag that is clean burning and doesn't smoke up the range like black powder?

I was hoping to try out something new for this weekend's trip to the range...

Rusty Marlin
200gr RNFP loaded upside down over 6.0 grains of American Select. Crimp on the flat just above the lube groove.

Much lower recoil impulse than using 231 or bullseye and super accurate and non-leading in all my .44s.

It's not a bad load a little hot but managable. 24 gr of either H110 or W 296 and 240Gr jhp bullet. Little smoke and a bit of flame. Keeps the weekend warriors at least 1 bench away on each side.
