270 Varmint Loads: 90 Grain & 110 grain Sierras
To all:

I put this with a few more comments on the varmint page. A new member, Monticello, was asking about this. So freshly done today, and without blue dot but SR 4759 instead, as I feel it is more consistent for longer cases like the 30/06 length cases:

Cheers and Happy Holidays

All loads are more than minute of coyote in my opinion. Recoil was reduced at least 50% in my opinion also in the 30 to 32 grain loads, much more so in the less than 30 grain loads. The 110 grain bullet is more than good enough for antelope sized deer. IMR listed loads as high as 33 grain, so I did one less for those pressure sensitive guys out there.

Brass was Remington, primer was CCI Larger rifle.

Rifle was a Husqvarna 270 with a 25 inch barrel.

Cheers to all,

IMR website shows 30.5 as a max. Where did you get your data that says 33?

Not sure where he got it from, but IMR states 30.5 for a 100 grain bullet. Not a 90 grain as seafire states.
