Sierra 70 Gr Blitzking and the .243 Win
Anyone have Sierra's load data for this combo? I have the Nosler, Hornady, and Barnes manuals, but I have nothing from Sierra. I was unsure whether 70 grain data from a different bulet manufacturer will be safe for Sierra's bullets. I know...I should just buy the manual, but my wife says if I buy one more reloading thing this month, she's gonna leave...Dang, I'm gonna miss her Big Grin

I do not have the Sierra manual, but as the data was not produced in my particular gun, it would be no more meaningful than that for 70 grain bullets from other manuals.

FWIW, I find that the Sirra 70 grain Blitzking interchanges quite nicely with the 70 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip in my rifle: Same apparent pressures, velocities, and POI.

Born To Hunt,

The Sierra #5 is a good manual but save your money on that 70BK/243 page. Sierra tested the bullet in a 22" Savage and for some reason shows light loads and only 3400 fps with two powders.

I shot that bullet just last Tuesday out of my 22" tubed Kimber and I got soot on the case from too little pressure and the load was one grain less than what Sierra shows for maximum. Skip the Sierra data and use the Nosler book for this combo.

Look at some of the online manuals. You might look on your search engine for used books you can get them like new for half price or less. I'm using the Varget load below on Hodgdon's site works great with the 70 BK. I'm getting 3550 fps out of a 26" barrel.
