<rogerq>416 rem mag cast loads
I have a new ruger #1 tropical in 416 rem mag and have ordered some cast bullets, all gas checked.
What would be a good load for 385 grain and 400 grain bullets. Should I take load recommendations for jacketed and reduced powder charge to equivalent 2000 fps. I have 4064, 4895 and 4831 powder.
Thanks for the advice!

onefunzr2For a cast lead 350 gas-checked bullet in my 416 mag the max charge weight of Accurate Arms XMP5744 is 55.0 grains giving 2200fps.
Going up to a 400 grain bullet, by using the Powley Powder Formula, you would decrease the charge weight by 3 grains. Reduce that 10% and start working up your load.
Sorry, I don't have info for any other powder.
