DP 85 and DP86
fishingIs anyone out there using DP85 or DP 86? If so what kind of results are you looking at? Any cartridge! BOOMroger

Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

Using DP 85, which I use load data for Ramshot's Hunter as recomended. It is a double base ball powder. I have had very good luck in .243 Win, 7mm 08 Rem, 300 WSM. I like it, it chronographs consistent speeds. It is a tad hotter than Hunter, so besure to work up a load. It burns clean, but likes to be loaded on the hotter side.

popcornI use a lot of both myself and there must be tons of each out there, but never see anyone shareing information on their experiences with either. I find both to be just great. BOOMroger

I never hear people talk about either DP 85 or DP 86. I bought a lot of DP 85 after I tried some and it was a really good investment after the price increases on powder and all reloading components in the last 18 months. I have had very good luck with surplus powders over the years. I use RSI Pressure Trace and shoot some ladders and have found most powders in the right burn range give good results. I think we change powders too often looking for a "holy grail" powder. Finding your nodes and accuracy is what really matters and having fun.
