Calling on the 'Pro's..........
About 15 years ago, Varmint Hunter magazine published a interesting table showing how many rpms a bullet was traveling in relationship to bullet weight and twist rate. If you have that table, please post up. It's this explosiveness I believes that makes the 'fur fly. Thanks, r in s.

I am no "Pro". And I don't have the article you are asking for. But,the formula to determine RPM from velocity and twist rate is as follows.

MV x (12/twist rate) x 60 = RPM

A quicker formula is,

MV x 720/twist rate = RPM

Note! There is no consideration as to bullet weight. Or even that the object is even a "bullet".

muck's formula can be used in Excel allowing you to enter any combination of twist and velocity
to calculate RPM with no table required.

I think I remember reading somewhere that RPM"s contributed very little to the "explosion" factor. Anybody know for sure?
