It has been a while since I got all my guns to shoot (in 1 range outing) with random reloads. Just the fact that the Barnes XLC shot well is a shock!
Anyway I had fun!!!

Good job, that never happens with me. As soon as I get the one gun that will not shoot to start performing well, all the other guns seem to go downhill.

It just doesn't happen that often, that we throw new loads together, for a variety of firearms and get results like that.
Great going, I hope your success keeps up. Sincerely, Tony

My Ruger 338Win loved max loads with Barnes X 250's at 3010 with 72gn H4350 but primers loosened after 5 loadings, slight extractor marks was an indication to find a group with a lower charge but couldn't find one .3MOA anywhere. Interestingly Federal high energy brass was the only one to produce these velocities, all others even regular Fed. were 200fps slower and were a little sticky extracting too.
Those 270gnrs there are smokin, nice to see it groups good too.
I went to a bigger gun to satisfy the power crave with less PSI. I had a real good load for a 300gn X in my Ruger #1 378wby, I'll have to look for it. .5MOA was the norm in that one with a Duglas barrel and a Timmney set.
Shoot that .378 load into some water filled 1/2 gal paper cartons and tell us what the X bullet looks like. Count the remaining petals if any.
It may take as many as 12 cartons to stop that one.
I only recovered one x in the dirt bank. It was a 375 cal 250 gr launched at well over 3200 fps. All petals are on and it weighs 250.0 grains.
The rifle also likes the 270 gr failsafes at 3100 fps. 114 gr of 4831... Best group so far is .155" at 100 yds. At 200 yds with very high wind it did 1.05" for 5 shots. Can not beat it with either bullet!
Man 3050 fps with a 350 gr out of a 338 Win? How is this possible? Even a 340 has trouble doing this.
