338 WIn Mag and Accubond help please!
I'm looking to load some 225gr Nosler Accubonds in my 338. I'm using Winchester brass, Federal 215 Primers and RL19 powder. I don't have a Nosler manual for the accubonds but I looked at one and if I remember correct the minimum load is 68.5gr of powder and the maximum is 72.5gr of powder. Can someone please look that up and double check my memory for me? Thanx!

Al
your memory is right, that's what the books says.

Thanx AL. I'm a bit paranoid but I always like to error on the side of caution.

AL, if you haven't tried it, give H4350 a chance in your 338.

Brad, I've never tried H4350, just 19 and H4831, but might give it a try the next time out. Truthfully, I can't find a bad load for my gun.

I wish I could say that Al! We hit the range today and my friends rifle with 72.0gr shot a 1" by 1/2" group. My rifle on the other hand shot a 5" by 2" group! [Eek!] It looks like I've got my work cut out for me. The first thing I'm going to check is the scope and see if that might be the problem.

257AI, I've had a 3-4 338's in various flavors, and have found that the 225 Hornady is a very accurate bullet to start out with.

Also had my share of scope, bedding, problems.

Instead of RL-19 you might find the following a little better:

RL-25 From 71.1 grains to 76.5 grains
Remington 9-1/2M Primer

ricciardelli, thanx for the suggestion. I've also has RL22 suggested which I have so I'll try that too.
