<RAO>sub-sonic loads for big games
Is it possible to creale sub-sonic loads for big game short action cartridges.
I know it is possible in .308 Win,but what about 7mm-08 and 7mm Mauser, with heavy bullets. Is it worth the trouble for shots under 100 yards.Any suggestions?

PerNHi Rao
It is not subsonic but a light load I use is
13gr Red Dot and Sako 78gr Bullets that exist as both FMJ and SP. This loads give the 78gr bullet a speed of 2170ft/s and a accuracy of 2" at 100y/

GeoJust remember that if you use too heavy a bullet at too low a velocity, they may not stabilize due to low RPM's.

<PowderBurns>Not only they may not stabilize, they may not expand in the game . . . or humanely kill the animal.
Why would you want sub-sonic in a rifle load for game? Sub-sonic is less than 1000 fps. Most rifles work at the 3000 fps range or faster.
