I load the bullets in .308 and in a 30-30 Single Shot.
In .308 from a 22" barrel the velocity is 3045 fps for the 130 grain. 2 Whitetails shot in Canada. Both were in the 200lb. plus range, neither went more than 15 feet with clean bullet thru performance.
30-30 Single Shot. 140 grain 2575+or- from a 22" barrel. 130 grain 2645 fps. 14 whitetails taken with bullet pass thru's, none went more than 50' 130 lb. range with one deer at 170 lbs.
Bench groups are at 1MOA with the 30-30 and smaller in the .308
Powders used W748, BLC-2, and WC-846

If someone has any 6.5 mm 120gr, .308" 165 & 180 gr, or some 225 gr .338" XLCs they want to trade, I'm game. I've got some 125 & 140 grain 6.5mm Partitions, 180 & 200 gr .308" Partitions, and some .338" 250 gr Partitions I'm willing to part with.
I'm tired of the X bullet bashing on reloading sites. If it is approached correctly, it is no more difficult to get X bullets to shoot well in most rifles than any other bullet. They're just a different sort of animal, that's all.
"Dislike" is born of knowledge. "Hate" is born of ignorance.
1.5" accuracy at 100 yards and fabulous performance even on small deer. Penetrated one doe stern to stem and would have exited save for a shoulder bone. Retained weight was 119.x grains. I didn't recover the other 3.
They open quickly and penetrate like gangbusters. Barnes appears to have dropped the 125's as I don't see them in the most recent load book, but the 130's & 140's should do fine.
