PuncherConverting Berdan cases to boxer
For those that might be interested in salvaging surplus berdan primed brass, I posted directions to convert to boxer priming on the cast bullet board.
This is still in the prototype stage. I intend to do more research on this and perfect the method.

crshootistYes, I'm inerested to learn how....
Have saved lots of surplus brass from shoot trips. I've noticed, looking down into brass case,
that there is like a snake bite holes for the
primer flash port....? can these be drilled or..
what...? for reloading purposes. Or is it recycle time....? please let me know..
thanks Benny

<PaulS>The problem with Berdan primed cases is two fold:
1. the boxer primers are smaller than their Berdan counterparts.
2. there is an anvil built into the bottom of the pocket on Berdan primed cases which will interfere with the boxer primer seating properly.
If you have to use Berdan primed cases use the appropriate primer. Gas escaping from a blown primer can ruin your weapon and possibly your whole day.
