I have noticed several references to surplus powders that people are using.I have seen WC860 powder & WC 852 mentioned.One I have not seen mentioned is WC867. I have some of this powder and it seems to work very well in large cases.It is a slow buring ball powder that requires 2 to 3 grs more powder than IMR 7828 to reach max.Does anyone have any more information on this powder?? How close is it to the Olin WMR powder?

Snowman. I don't know, but if it is close to, or is WMR under another mane, I'll sure want some when my supplut of WMR runs out.

Paul Since WMR powder has been discontinued I suspect the powder that is being sold as WC867 is either the last of the WMR powder supply or some batchs that did not meet spec for commerial grade WMR.( either too fast or too slow).I was hoping someone had more information on this.

I haven't used WC 867, but have used some bit of WC 860 and WC 872. Both of these are much slower than 7828, and, despite the designations, WC 860 seems very slightly slower than WC 872. I've used both powders with good result in .264 Win Mag and 7mm STW.

If WC 867 is, say, 5% slower than 7828, it would be a very useful powder indeed. Where can I find it?

Wc 867 and wc 872,

I've been using 867 in 7 rem mag !!,73 grains

of it with a 175 grains bullet, gave 2905 fps,

average, and i intend to use it in 270 wsm too

As far as 872 is concerned i,m using 83 grains

of it with a 170 grain bullet, in 300 winchMag,


accuracy is superb.
