mstarlingBest place to start?
OK Guys,
Want to do some pretty accurate ammo for .308 w 168 gr OTMs for work at some range.
Would like to use primers I have already rather than go out an buy something special ... and don't need bench rest precision.
Have CCI 200s, WLR, and Remington 9 1/2s available. Going to use RL-15. Any suggestions abt which primer likely to be best place to start?
Thanks,
Mike

larrysMike, my rifles like Re15 and the WLR primers. The only other primers I have tried for the 308 is Federal so I can't help you with the rest. Either will make helf inch holes when I do my part.

mstarlingLarry,
WLRs have been good to me as well.
May try some of the Remingtons to get a comparison. Have lots of them.
Thanks,
Mike

mdvjrp93I use the 200 with 168 amax and varget powder. I get a thumb nail size 5 shot group (5/8")
168gr amax
46grs of varget
CCI 200
1 shot 1 thrill

Lamarwins do better for me with the faster powders.
when i get to rl-19 or 4831 federal 210's or rem 9-1/2's, seem to shoot tighter groups.
that's with large rifle primers.
in small rifle i only have one load that prefers cci's over winchester.

RustyI'm sure your WLR will do just fine.
My most accurate load for my 308s is
150 Accubond
44 grains of Norma 203B or RL-15 (different batches of same powder)
Federal GM 210
I really like the A-Max bullets. The 155 grain I've tried shoot good. I just haven't found the right combination for my rifles yet.
