.450 Marlin and "bigger then 350grn" bullets ?
It seem's that all the load information is with 350 grn bullets. Has anybody loaded with 400 grn, or bigger , bullets, cast and jacketed ?

I have some Speer 405 grn JFP's and was wondering if anybody was loading for them, with Hodgens ball powder's. I imagine 45/70 data would be fine.......thanx......10

10point,

I would think .45/70 data should be a decent place to start from. The .450 Marlin is practically identical to the .458 American (2"). If you can find data for it (I believe the Wildcats book has some), it would be just the ticket.

Go to www.hodgdon.com . There are loads with Varget close to 2000 fps with the 400 gr.
