Blue Dot;22/250, what bullet weights do you want
Do you want to see? Cut me off!

I am doing a testing of Blue in the 22/250 now ( 243 is next) with a complete report like I did on the 223.

I am going from 20 % case capacity to 60 %.

So far I have picked 45 gr, 50gr, 52gr, 55 gr, 60 gr and 64 grain bullet weights. Anyone have a desire for anything else?

Anyone who is interested in getting an email with the test results, that hopefully will be done this weekend ( most already completed) please send me an email and I will reply with the info attached in a WORD format document.

everyone have a great weekend.

Cheers and good shooting

All those bullet weights seem fine to me. With the exception of 64Grn, never tried it out of a 1 in 14 twist barrel.

Frank,

I had selected the 64 grain bullet for several reasons.

The market has available a 63 grain Sierra SMP, ( which I love), Winchesters 64 grain PP, and then Sierra has launched a 65 gr SP for deer size game, ( guess close to kangaroo size game in OZ).

I have also used the 70 grain Speer SP, on deer which is a dandy bullet. I have taken several ( no trophies) with this bullet in both the 22/250 and the 223.

The 64 grain will stablize in the 1 in 12 twists in a 223, but we will have to see in a 1 in14 in a 22/250. I do know the 63 grain one will stablize in a 1 in 14 twist. So I may switch over to the 63 grain one. IN my stock of bullets, the 64 grain ones are more expendible than the 63 grain ones, which is another reason to pick it.

Cheers and Good shooting

I will try and get some 63grn Sierras on my next trip to Brisbane (260 miles away) My local gun shop in town has very little of anything and is also very expensive.

I will tell my wife that we are going away for the weekend to visit our 2 daughters who live in Brisbane. And just happen to visit the gun shops while we are there.
