KingfisherCheck Alliantpowder.com, I can't access it from the office but I'm 99% sure they have the data you're looking for or should atleast have something for you to go on otherwise get someone who has a Barnes manual handy to give you a starting point. You don't have to seat the bullets to the cannelure.

Ted S.My last loads 83 Grains of Reloader-25 with a Hawk 250 Grn. round nose. I talked to hawk and they said because of the bearing surface area and the softness of the jacket to go 10% under normal listed loads. The accuracy was around 7/8" at 100 yds. No game but they shot great. I am going after elk this year in the open country and felt the grand slams are a better choice.

McCrayMaybe so...
Since most all 338 bullets are designed for 338 Win Mag velocities, I would think about going with a tougher bullet. It's asking an awful lot of a standard cup and core bullet to be launched at 200 fps faster than it was built for.
I have never worked much with the Speer. What little I did do, wasn't encouraging!
