What 270 Winchester round might this have been?
I have acquired my uncle's Model 70 Winchester 270. The rifle was bought new in 1953, the SN says it's a '52 model.

On top of the Redfield 3 to 9 scope (another 1953 vintage item) there is a label affixed which indicates the following trajectory:

100 yds... +2 1/2"
225 yds... 0
300 yds... -6"
400 yds... -20"
500 yds... -40"

Presumably these are rounded off numbers. The ammo being used would have been available in the 1960's, the decade wherein this rifle saw most of its use. I'm not sure if this trajectory is for a handload or a factory load.

I would like to determine what load this rifle was likely to have been set up for, and for nostalgia's sake, duplicate it if possible.

Any help would be appreciated...

I can get you pretty close--took a hornady 150 grain spitzer at 2800 fps. Came out as follows. 100 yds 2.4
225 0
300 -6.0
400 -20
500 -41.9
