Finally tried stainless steel pins
I use a small Thummlers Tumbler and finally tried the stainless steel pins. A little Lemi shine and a little dish soap and a few minutes later, shiny brass. No media to pick out of the flash holes and primer pockets clean. I'm sold on it.____

If the brass is not too tarnished or filthy I often skip the pins all together and just tumble them in the lemi shine and dish soap.

I have been meaning to try the S/S pins. I have an early Thumbler's Tumbler that I used exclusively in the 70s, but I shelved it when I bought the large Dillon vibratory cleaner. It always worked well + is a great backup system. Back in the day when I was using regular polishing medium in the TT, when it got dirty, I made a cone out of 1/4" mesh (Chinese cap) that would fit a bucket top. Put the medium in a container with gas + soak+ stir a bit, then lay newspaper inside the cone + then pour into the paper lined cone; the medium + gas, gas goes through the newspaper, but the medium won't. Lay the medium out in the sun, stirring occasionally, + all the petrol evaporates + your medium is as good as new. I used the same medium for years doing that. Oh, yeah; do it outside! DUH!
