KMuleinAKmost accurate load in 338wm w/250 nosler part?
I have been shooting imr4350 with the 250 nosler partition for a standard load, it achieves between 1.4" - 1.7" at 100 yards at approximately 2650 fps - I would like to obtain a bit smaller groups with the 338 win mag still using the 250 nosler partition - the rifle has been bedded, trigger job, the usual low dollar mods - any ideas ? Thanks - KMule

MtnGunThe 250gr Nosler, loaded with Reloader22 to the 2750fps area beats that accuracy in my rifle. Yours may be different.

<Lars G>I personally use H4831SC exclusively with the 250 gr partition. Work your way up to 73.0 gr if you can. This in my one-load-does-it-all hunting round.

Bob338Another vote for RL22. 73-74g has worked for me in several. I use Federal 210 primers. Velocity is in the 2850 area or a tad less.

AtkinsonI used RL-22 for years but I have pretty much gone to RL-19, with 73.2 grs and a 250 gr. bullet for 2827 FPS and less pressure than RL-22...A 225 swift with 76 grs of RL-19 gives me an awsome 3115 FPS, the 230 hawk bullet got 2910 with the same load....all are 5 shot groups and chronographed then averaged...Av. DEV was 33.8 Accruacy was very good and all loads are max in my rifle...
However, my old load of 75 grs of RL-22 at 2690 with a 250 gr. Nosler is still a great load and shoots under an inch...and to the same POI as the 210 Nosler with 75 grs of H4350 for 3110 FPS and the 300 gr. Woodleigh with 69 grs of RL-22 for 2375 FPS does the same..
That above equates to the 300 gr. woodleigh dead on at 100, the 250 Nosler 1.5" high and the 210 Nosler 2" high, all center....With that trio I can handle it all, its a perfect set up and a rare rifle indeed..I credit it to the Boots Obermyer barrel mostly...My point being as much as I like the RL-19 I don't mess with the above program....

BigBulletLike you, I had been using IMR 4350, but hadn't really been happy with the accuracy. Found H4831sc work fairly well, but have settled on 70.0 grains of H4350 with the 250 NP's. Velocity is 2825 fps. OAL-3.355" Rifle is a Ruger 77 Magnum with 24" barrel.
Good Luck,
