NakihunterAnyone try Vihtavouri N150
Anyone try Vihtavouri N150 with 500 gr bullets in 470NE?
How does it compare with Re15 & H4530?
I thought that N150 would be about similar to Re15 or Varget but it looks a bit slower.
I would appreciate some load info for Big Bores

RhysGood stuff, I have used more N550 however.
It's extremely close to Varget
R-15 a bit slower and bulkier
Yes it's cocked, and it has bullets too!!!

NakihunterThanks Rhys
I am finding in 470NE that N150 is slower than Re15.
I am getting 2050 fps with 90 gr Re 15 but only 1900 fps with N150 and same 90gr.
In my 9.3X62 I found Varget was slower - needing more powder to get same velocity as Re15. Varget was also much more consistent and more accurate.
I would really like to know if anyone has regulated a 470Ne with N150.
I have tried N560 and N160 and they are way too slow. I would have go to 110 or even 120 gr to get velocity. Recoil was really stiff with just 105 gr and 1700 fps for N560 & 1800 fps for N160.

RhysWhen I was referring to slower I was looking at burn rate.
faster powders use a smaller charge for a given pressure
slower require more for the pressure, and will generally give a higher velocity.

Bill73Naki,
I used N150 in a 470 when I was still shooting cast bullets,my load was 92 grs with a Cast performance bullet of 425 grs, velocity was right @2150,& I shot a lot of pigs with that load, the gun shot 1-2”@50 yrds, please do not forget that cast is maybe .001 oversize & will give you more barrel strain.

NakihunterYup that is exactly what i meant.
I got same velocity with Re15 and less powder - so it is a faster burn rate with quicker peak pressures to get the velocity.

NakihunterThanks Bal.
I tried 90 gr with 400 gr bullets and got 1900 fps.
