Blob1Place for a Good quality wooden stock

Never had any problems until going to this toy plastic stock. Anyone out there know some good places to order a plain old time good quality wooden stock? Need one for a Ruger MK 77 mark 2.
Thanks

Fish30114Not really plain, and not cheap either, but a Serengeti laminate looks like regular walnut for the most part, (it's sawn vertically) and will give you a synthetic consistency with real wood.--Just a thought --Don

2ndtimerYou might take a look here:
Boyds GunstocksI was pretty pleased with one of their JRS nutmeg laminated JRS stocks for a Howa 1500. Sure makes it look nicer than the plastic Butler Creek stock that came on it.

You have probably heard of Fajen, or Bishop down in Warsaw MO. What is left of these has moved to Lincoln Missouri and is called Wenig.
The replacement stock I received from Ruger was a beautiful piece of walnut. The fit was perfect. If they won't give it to you I'll bet they will sell it to you at cost with all the trouble you have been having.

Hey thanks for all the good info! I really want a walnut stock for it. I am going to the range tomorrow and shoot some targets for Ruger, that is to send with the rifle. But I think I will try to get Ruger to replace the stock wih a walnut one even if I have to pay for it. I am just partial to them and all my old good shooters have them.

Cal SibleySavage had a problem for a while with their synthetic stocks, and switched companies providing their stocks. They were simply too flimsy. Not all synthetic stocks are equak in quality. McMillan probablt makes the best around.
Best wishes.
