Rock Chucker press question???
I have had a RCBS Rock Chucker press for years. The other day I saw a used Rock Chucker II press for sale. Can anyone tell me the difference, they looked the same, but did not see them side by side. Thanks Jim

ramrod340If you go to RCBS the parts list for both is the same except for a couple linkage pieces.

Walter ProciukThe new Rockchucker 11 is a larger press. With all the super-sized magnums that have been introduced in the past 15-20 years, the Rockchucker had to be stretched out to accomodate them. They are both excellent presses.

Yep, the RCII has a taller "window" for magnum length carts.

Jim C. <><I've had an RC II for maybe 15 years. It's probably as good as any other press of it's type, Big Boss, Orange Crusher, LnL, Classic Cast, etc., but no better. Never understood why some people seem to think it's the best thing since handles on a bucket. I really wish my spent primer catcher would catch spent primers more often!

I had the same problem with my Rockchucker, but I fixed it.
I took a 2 or 3Liter sodapop bottle and cut a section out of it to fit inside the Primer Catcher Tray and glued it in place. Mine is 2.5" tall and 7" long. If I was doing it again, I'd make it 6" tall by 8" long, because it is not in the way.
When I glued it into the Tray, I placed it slightly off-set to the right so I can reach in with my Left Hand to put the Case in and out of the Shell Holder. If I'd cut it 8" long, I believe I could have let the right extend to the back of the Tray and had enough room on the Left side to still handle the Cases.
Can't remember if I used Duco Cement(Model Glue) or 2-part Epoxy. But I remember lightly clamping it at each end to hold it in place while the glue set.
And I rounded the upper corners of the additional wall.
Good Hunting and clean 1-shot Kills.

homebrewerI have a RockCrusher, too. Could you post a picture of the tray, Hot Core?

Winchester 69Isn't the newer, larger-frame RC press the
Supreme? I have been of the impression that the RC II was the last version of the older, smaller-frame press.

Hot CoreHey Homebrewer, I've not tried posting flicks on the Board. However, if you PM me your email address, I can send you a flick there.
Or if anyone reading this that normally posts flicks on the Board wants to post it here for all to see, I'll be glad to send a flick of it to you too.

By the way, you do not have to glue the piece of bottle inside the Tray. You can put the Tray on the Press and use a Rubber Band(around the entire Press and Tray) to hold the Tray in place instead of the Plastic(breakable) hook. Slide the piece of the bottle inbetween the Tray and the Rubber Band. Then if you like it, cut it to any size you desire and glue it in.
