.416 Remington Mag & Barnes Solids
Do most of you shoot the 350gr Barnes solid instead of the 400gr solid so as to avoid a compressed load or lost velocity?

phurley5Mufasa ----- Nope, I shoot a 370 grain North Fork with solids to match, the accuracy is amazing.

Good shooting.

lawndartMufasa,
phurley5 nailed it. Forget about Barnes. If you want to use your 416 Rem Mag like Thor's hammer with the accuracy of Carlos Hathcock, buy a box of North Fork 370 grainers, a jug of RL-15 and some Fed 215M spark plugs. Start at 74 grains, and work up to 2,400 fps. You can go higher safely, but there is absolutely no need. "I am done with load development for the 416 Rem Mag"; so sayeth the lord Samuel: 12:17.
