Brass Question??
what is the best brass for a 7mm rem mag load?

and what is an acceptable weight difference range between each casing?

I've always used WW, but Norma is good & Nosler now makes it. I don't see much diff. in volumn between cases of the same manuf., +/- 5gr isn't much to worry about in a large case for hunting.

I always use Winchester brass, unless Winchester doesn't make brass for a certain cartridge then I use Norma.

I'm using Remington brass but wouldn't hesitate to use brass from Winchester, Federal, Norma, Nosler, Hornady, etc.

I’ve used Federal, Winchester, Norma, Remington, Hornady, and Weatherby brass. Brass is brass for the most part (excluding military brass) but I generally buy Remington brass. I know a number of people who use mixed brass all the time and develop accurate hunting loads.

I usually buy 200 to 500 rounds of unprimed brass by the same maker. Size it, trim it, square up the primer pockets, ream the flash holes, and proceed to use the hell out of them.

No matter who makes the case I’m using for any particular caliber, I toss them when I reach a point where they need a second trim and buy a new batch.

At this time I need to replace all my 220 Swift Brass. The brass is Remington and some of it has been loaded 8 times. The necks are starting to split. It will be nice to have shiny new brass again.

It’s winter and I have nothing better to do than prep a bunch of cases or surf the web.

Brass is not just brass, and i have used many different brands. Winchester will have more volume than most as a note of reference. van

I know that Van. I know about the volume difference and that’s not a problem for some people.

I can preach all I want too about weird pressures and all that stuff but it works for them. Go figure!
