phurley5rpowell ----- I am shooting a new Browning A-Bolt in .243 WSSM and have been very pleased with the accuracy. I bought a cheap box of Sierra Gameking bullet of 100 grains, because I want to make the rifle a grandaughter rifle eventually. I mounted a 4.5 X 14 Ziess scope on it and started breaking in the rifle. First five shots were shooting in the barrel with cleaning after each shot, using cheap factorys and use the brass later. After 15 shots with the factory cartridges I started reloading, using IMR-7828 SSC powder I had just bought in two 8 pound canisters ( I had a gift certificate from Christmas to burn ). My second group was a one holer with 46 grains of powder and a Fed 210M primer. I had never got a one hole group, meaning three shots touching not single hole, in less than one box of cartridges shot. This little honey is going to be fun.

Good shooting.

rpowellphurley5,
i have the a-bolt in varmint stalker, and it shot factory 100 grain loads at less than 3/4 of an inch. i tried the 55 grain factory loads but got a very tight bolt lift after firing each round. i am going to try working up a handload using 68 grain berger varmint bullets and varget for coyote hunting. it will take me a couple of weeks before i get them worked up. i'll post back later

phurley5rpowell ----- I was lucky enough to find the bullet weight my rifle liked at the get go. Hopefully it will like all the bullets weights, but that is not likely past experience tells me. Your barrel will tell you what it likes in bullets and powder eventually. I used to use all primers but went to Federal Match only when they proved that they were the most accurate over time.

Good shooting.
