Looking For LR .300 win Loads
I just got a Savage 12bvss in .300 win mag and would like some good proven long range loads for 500-1000yd steel. I'll probably be using Varget or H-1000 since that is the bulk of my powder supply but would buy new powder if need be. Thanks for sharing.

(AA-3100 too but that was a pain in the ass to meter)

My 26" barrel Browning A-Bolt just loves 72 grains of AA 3100! Puts them all into > 1" all day long, as long as I am doing my part! (180 Nosler BT, 72 AA 3100, WLR primers, new WW brass) YMMV.

RL-22 has worked wonders for me as well. Seems like everything shoots well with it, have not tried much else. (AA-3100 too but that was a pain in the ass to meter).

168gr Sierra MatchKing w/ 73gr RL-22 and WLRM primer

190gr Sierra MatchKing w/ 71gr RL-22 and WLRM

200gr AccuBond w/ 70gr RL-22 and WLRM (1/2" 4 shots)

200gr AccuBond w/ 72gr RL-22 and WLRM (3/4" 4 shots)

All the usual, start lower and watch for pressure blablabla. Enjoy.

I'd also try the old classic combination of H4831 and a 180-grain or 190-grain match bullet.

IMR 4831 also works wonders.

Amen!! RL22 has great velocity, but accuracy is just not there like IMR 4831. At least for me. I know I'm an exception..sakofan.
