Picked up a RCBS hand priming tool today
Went to a local gun show and bought the RCBS hand primer. It was $9 more expensive then the Lee but I have had such great customer service from RCBS I'll stick with them. I was amazed at the increase in speed in seating the primers over using my old RCBS single stage press to prime. The hand primer is at leats 3-4 times faster then using the press. Also used my new carbide sizer die. It's great not to have to lube the cases. [Smile]

You'll have to treat the carbide die with care. It doesn't take as much punishment as a standard die does. Don't get too carried away with how fast you primer your cases - this is a very important step and accuracy/consistency in seating depth is critical. WOW, now that I gave my two cents, isn't this reloading stuff fun?

Yes RCBS are great to deal with and good people.....just a note....every few loading sessions wipe the primer tray out and clean it with a clean dry towel or similar..the primer residue is explosive, more so than powder and that is the only real problem with them if yours is the new version with" prime guard" shield in the tool.....I'm wondering about the new aps version it seems to be even faster but I've got too many of the standard primer tools to switch for now....good luck and good shooting with your own loaded ammo,,,enjoy!!!

I'm a big fan on the APS hand priming tool. It's just so smooth and safe.

Best,

I use the RCBS hand primer and it has served me well alas I know no better as it is the only one I have tried.

I've used the RCBC tool ever since my Lee wore out. Thousands of rounds later it still works fine.
