Hutt250 savage/91 Argentine
Traded for a nicely done sporterized 1891 Argentine mauser rebarreled in 250 savage. Will this action be safe to use when approaching maximum load pressures I have seen upto date reloading manuals. I have an older 1899 savage TD (1:14) in the same caliber and reload less than maximums in it. I wanted a faster twist (1:10) for the heavier 100gr bullets and it would seem I could ring more out of them with a bolt action.

DuggaBoyeI have fired the (HOT)7.65 Norma Factory 150's in one many times--
Just remember--
it does not handle escaping gas like a 98

J.D.SteeleWhat DuggaBoyO said, and plenty of it! I have one 1891 in 223 Rem and another in 243 Win, no problems.

KrochusI shoot my 1891 with any load that falls within 7.65x53mm max pressure specifications. In my opinion these mausers are as safe as any other with respect to .473" head cartridges and the strength of the action
BUTI will however never shoot mine without OSHA approved eye protection, I STRONGLY urge you to do the same. These rifles are VERY inferior to later designs in terms of gas handling in the event of a case or primer rupture
