mailmanmark7-08 or .308
Which do you prefer for optimum accuracy?
Loads will be used for deer, black bear, and coyote within 200yds.

vapodogThe 7-08 because of the lower recoil due to lower bullet weights typically used....
But if one can handle the 7-08 then he can also handle the .308.....as the difference is small.
In terms of actual accuracy difference, it's not likely one will ever discover any at all....they are nearly equivalent rounds.

BECooleWhatever rifle you find you like, take it.
None of the critters will know if you killed them with a 7-08 or a .308.

krakyLike asking which is hotter.....blondes, brunettes, or redheads. Just doesn't matter.....if one gets to your heart..it's all over.

vinesi load for both. if i bought a new one today, it would be a 7-08. usless i get a real good deal on a .308. but if i had the 2 same guns in my hand with the same price it would be a 7-08

Fish30114there is a lot more specilized reloading gear for the 308. It is used MASSIVELY more than a 7-08 for accuracy disciplines, i.e. benchrest shooting, sniper applications etc.
I would go 308 in a heartbeat, and get a Forster bushing bump die for sure

--also not avaialble in 7-08

458LottfanThe 7-08 is very popular with the silhouette shooters. That is accuracy and recoil managed discipline. And they are concerned with energy as well. Either choice is a good one.
