Re: Digital Scales?
I owned several different digital scales, and none of them were satisfactory. The reasons varied, but I didn't like them. So, I bought a Digital Scale made by Denver Instruments in Arvada, CO. The model number is APX 153. There are several aspects that are good about the APX 153. You don't have to calibrate it every time you use it. It never loses zero. It is faster than you can imagine. As soon as you put the charge in the pan, the reading comes out, instantly. It is totally accurate, consistent, and repetitive. Now, I could never go back to the "usual scales" sold to us reloaders. It is a Digital Scales dream come true. I bought mine directly from Denver Instruments.

DeltaHunterDMB, I went to the site and these look nice. However, I didn't see one that weighs in grains, so do you have to do a conversion from grams to grains. Or did I simply miss the one that weighs in grains?

RupertBearI use Lyman's 1200DPS (Natchez SS is a lot cheaper than Cabela's for it) and really like it. It trickles out the powder fast (and if you scoop some into the pan first, it is even faster), and the readout is accurate. Whenever I'm mesuring out powder toward the top end of the range, I pre-set my beam scale and double check every third round or any one that the readout suggests isn't perfectly thrown. I have only used it with stick powders, though, and don't know how it'll work for flakes, like BLC22.
The Denver Model I have weighs in about six different weight measures. I set mine to weigh in grains which is just a push of a button on the scales. Also, it measures to .01 gr. I couldn't find a better Digital Scale that would weigh in grains. If you go to their site, look for the model number that I bought. It weighs in grains.

DeltaHunterDMB, I downloaded the brochure and it does in fact indicate that it's capable of weighing in several different units of measure including grains. Thanks a lot for the info.
DeltaHunter,
Go for it!!! You will be amazed...
It is a piece of workmanship!!!!
