Powder recommendations for 9.3x74R
Curious as to what has worked well for others out there. Maybe I'm missing an optimal one. I've started out using 4064 and lately been using RL15 with 286 Woodleigh's and Norma RN bullets. Haven't tried the Nosler partition yet. The rifle is a 20's vintage Kettner SxS double.

I'm hoping NE 450 No2 will see this as he seems to have had good success with his double.

Thanks,
Brian

I will list my best loads so far. Pay close attention to my overall length, as that can affect pressure

270Speer 59gr RL-15 vel.2320fps. loa=3.712

286 Nosler Partition 63gr. of IMR 4831 loa=3.796 vel.2137.2fps

286 Nosler Partition 65gr. of IMR 4831 loa=3.796

vel.2218fps

285Hawk Bullets 65gr. of IMR 4831 loa=3.675

286gr. Woodleigh Softs 65gr. of IMR 4831 loa=3.700

I am still developing loads with the Woodleigh Solids, so far 63.5gr of IMR 4831 seems to be the best. Loa=3.740

I use 57.0 grs IMR 4064 and Norma 286 gr. RN bullets in my double. Have never felt a need to work up another load. Have a lifetime supply of both.

Thanks for sharing your experience with this caliber. I look forward to tailoring loads to my double.
