army aviatorHodgdon CFE 223 POWDER
Hodgdon has a new powder listed for 308 and maybe others. Anyone used it yet?

Antelope SniperLoad data for the .223 appear to be the Milspec load for WC844. Recently a new additive was invented that makes the powder burn cooler, but doesn't decrease the amount of gas, or pressure produced. It's supposed to greatly extend barrel life, especially in the SAW's. Will all the troops coming home, looks like someone may have a few train loads of the stuff and need a new market for it?

lawndartThat is correct. Remember, a cool SAW/M249/Minimi is a happy SAW/M249/Minimi.
This is sort of like the new Alliant AR-Comp powder. The military got good and p.o.ed about RL-15 (used in M118LR ammunition) having an accepted 5% variance from lot to lot. They put the screws to Alliant, and the variance got a lot smaller in a hurry. Now, there is a lot of that around, and Alliant says, "This is new, this is special and this is good".
I hate to say it out loud, but war is good for shooting technology.
