Reloading .308 Lead bullets with Pistol powder

I would like to know, has anybody got good results with loading a 308 195 gr. bullet using pistol powder such as Unique or Herco, with or without filler. Thanks Harry

I have use 190-215 gr bullets using unique @100 yds from a Rem 78. I use 12-14 grs. Groups of 3-4". No filler. Haven't spent a lot of time working on this load as I like 160-185 gr bullets better. Tested some in a FR-8 but only for 50 yds. About 3" groups.

Did some work with cast bullets some years ago in a .308. I was never able to get the faster powders to group well. The faster rifle powders with a small piece of foam plastic did work very well. Work up slowly and use gas checks.
