7.5 x 55 Swiss in a K-31
Finally loaded a few for the K-31 this weekend.

Using Hornady 180g BTSP

10 @ 46 grains of IMR 4350 3 1/2" at 100 yds
10 @ 47 grains of IMR 4350 2 1/2" at 100 yds

Anybody got any pet loads for this cartrige?

The Wolf gold 174 grainers seem to do a bit better..........
GP111 about the same.

3 shots do not make a group, they show a point of aim or impact.
5 shots are a group.

Andre, that scope mount looks neat, good looking rifle too. Do you have to drill???

I wish I could mount a scope just for load development...............

41gr Varget with Sierra 155 Palma. 5/8" c-c for five shots at 100yds with Swiss match sights. The rifle is double lug bedded in the original stock and trigger is tuned.

JTEX, Since you haven't recieved a reply yet, that is a no drill no tap mount. Andre, being from Belgium, probably has an older original (German or Swiss made?) EAW steel mount. It could also be a very similar newer mount made by Swiss Products(US manufacture in either steel or aluminium-order from Brownells or Graf and Sons). A web search for Guisan, a frequenter of SwissRifles.com, may be able to help with a European connection. Some years ago the EAW went for over $300 and the SP was about $200. There are also unbranded knock-offs.
For pet loads other than the one you have, check out Pierre's list of pets at SwissRifles. Keep looking and expermenting. best-o-luck

Lonniemike is correct, my mount is a German steel EAW (Ernst appel werke) side mount (only one hex screw to tighten and fit to receiver is real custom class). As with all EAW products (I have -or have had- several of their swing out mounts and also a fixed one), quality is very high but so are their prices ! True again, Pierre of Swissrifles sells a nice quality knock off at half the cost.

The rifle is a privatized ("P" stamped), anno 1938, SIG made K 31 with a nice walnut stock. The bore is in mint condition and shoots into < .75 MOA.

I have one of Pierre,s mounts. It is top notch. I really want one of his left hand conversions. I need to see if they are still available.

I shoot my K-31's at a local range that hosts Swiss Rifle and pistol matches. I have the St. Marie diopter sights and the best load I have shot so far is 44.0 gr of IMR 4064 with a 168 gr match bullet of your choice. I have been shooting A-Max's and BTHP's. Shoots inside 4" at 300 yds if the shooter does their job. I have hit the shot marker spindle a couple times too. The match director doesn't like that because he orders the targets from Switzerland and they are expensive!! tu2
I have found the Wolf ammo is not nearly as accurate for this kind of shooting. 300 yds that is.

Mr. Pierre St.Marie has also found a pet accuracy load with 165-168ers using 4064 in the 37 grain range. It's suppose to be extra mild and accurate. IIRC, the original pet was 165RemCoreLoc and 37grn IMR 4064. It's hard to say work up to that load but work around it to find your best. best-o-luck

JTEX: Here is the scope mount. Go with the Alum.($68) as it works just fine and it is alot cheaper than the steel one. Takes about one min. to take on and off. You will also need to buy a set of rings as the mount dose not come with them and uses a 3/8" rail. Should uses steel rings. I went with Millet. My best loads were with Sierra 168HPBT amd 4895 and Re15.
