Interest in Once fired SS media cleaned and FL sized brass
I have an opportunity to become the sole buyer of a fairly active indoor ranges fired brass for a decent bulk price. From my inspection, it appears that the bulk will be 9mm, 40 and 45 with a smattering of 380, 357sig and 32 & 25ACP, small q's 556/223 762 etc

I am thinking of starting a OF brass operation now that I quite fully retired and am seeking input on demand. The range operator says he gathers about 500-800lbs of mixed brass per month, maybe more so that is a good amount to process. He sells it at $80 per 5 gal bucket mixed ( I think it weighed about 60lbs). I may be able to halve that if I buy it all on a gentlemen's agreement.

Input? Demand?

I do not want to create a small business per se and go through all that dram and cost as it would be a one-man show.

I think you will have a difficult time getting enough demand for bulk fired brass. However, there are more than one very successful operations that sell re-manufactured ammo, mostly .45,.40, 9mm, 556, 762, etc. Go figure! There is a huge demand among law enforcement agencies that consume practice ammo, competitors who shoot thousands of rounds a month, and the people looking for something cheep to bang off. Anyway, It may well be worth your while to explore starting such a re-manufacturing business, especially since you will have a source of low cost brass.

On a couple of the other forums I'm on there are shooters who do this. At least one of the two buys military lots from range clean up. The other may also. If you are interested I can send you contact info so you can check their sites out. No sense advertising and sending you potential business else where.

A bad day at the range is better than a good day at work.
