GdragonSeatin die tpi and adjustment
Was making an adjustment to my Redding 300WSM seater yesterday and I remembered a chart that I had seen once that showed the threading for different brands of seater dies. Does anyone know the location of something like this? I'd like to print it out and hang it up over my bench.

TailgunnerCount the threads/inch on your seating adjustment stem (or use a thread gauge if you have one) and divide that number into 1.
RCBS uses a 20 thread / inch screw, so I'll use that for a example.
Divide 1 by the TPI to get the advance per turn IE 1/20 = .050 or 1 full turn will seat the bullet .050 further in, 1/2 turn .025 etc.

Hot CoreOr you can do an overall measurement of the Die from the Base to the Top of the Seating Stem with your good old 0.001" capable Caliper - lets say(for grins) it measures 4.150".
Screw the Seating Stem " in " one turn.
Re-measure and lets say(for grins again) that it is now 4.100"
Subtraction will provide you with a difference of 0.050", which is similar to what Tailgunner got.

Feel free to print this out and post over your Reloading Bench.

Paul HAnd provided your seater is a 1-20 thread, which I'm pretty sure the Redding is, 360 degrees dived by 0.050" per revolution yields 7.2 degrees per 0.001" or 36 degree's per 0.005".
