.22-10-45Loading Blocks
Hello, everyone. While waiting for .450/.400 3" to arrive, I decided to get busy and prepare for feeding the beast. I like to make my own loading blocks, usually out of walnut or maple..lately I have found cherry a nice wood to work with. Well, I had a 1" thick block made for .45-70, I set this up in a Bridgeport & using a 5/8" two flute end mill, re-cut for the bigger rim.
I like to stand empty cases primer up in one block when loading..that big 3" case is kind of tippy even in a .90" deep hole.
Using 3/4" cherry, I drilled 50 holes for a push fit for wooden "pipe plugs"..little wooden turned to a point plugs. These are about 1" long and 3/8" dia. cases are very secure & stand straight up.
