7mm. guystuck primer
The othe othere day I was priming some cases with my press and the primer got flicked side ways so now the caswe is stuck in the shell holder, held by the live primer. I am able to reach the primer with a pen, but hesitate to do so with a live primer. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciateed.
How did i manage this you say? Well a great man once said nothing is fool proof to a sufficeintely talented fool.

Cossack2Deactivate it by putting oil on it, letting soak overnight.

R D McMillanDo NOT rely on oil to deactivate a primer!! That is a MYTH and a very dangerous one at that! Oil will NOT reliably deactivate modern primers because primers are now made with a protective sealent added. Remove the die from the press and replace it with your decapping die. Wrap the press in a pair of old blue jeans or similar material and VERY slowly and GENTLY use the press to force the stuck primer out. Stay as far back from the press as possible, use heavey gloves and wear saftey glasses.

+1 I've never had an issue removing live primers. I've had several that got stuck in sideways. Just went slow and wore my normal reloading eye protection. I've never had one go off. Only time was when one got dropped on the floor and the wife sucked it up with the vacuum beater bar set it off. Heard about that one.

stillbeemanUhhh, its just a primer. I don't mean you can be too cavalier with it but anyone that has used a Lee Loader knows that a popped primer is more excitmet than danger. I mean since there ate no other primers nor powder around.
