I use this powder with GREAT success in .223 and 7-08, but would like to try it in 45-70 and 06. Anyone else use it in other calibers and what is your opinion? Thanks and good shooting.

I used it in the 30/06 with 168s with mediocre success. Groups were 3/8 wide and 2" tall at 100. Worked quite well though with 150s.
A good powder in the 30/40 Krag and the 35 Whelen. Regards, Bill.

Works very well in all the 30-06s I have used it in, especially it seems, with 165 grain bullets.

I have tried it in one 45-70.
Results: No where near as successful as with BLC2 or 2015. So, I have not ventured back there since that one effort. However, that may be that I just didn't try enough to come up with the right combo.

Varget is a good powder in a lot of calibers by my experience. Which does include the 7-08, where it truly excelled.

I've used Varget with good results in the 9.3x64 Brenneke. I've tried it in 6.5x55, 30-06, but the best was in .308 Win with 168gr Hornady bthpmatch in my M1-A--less than 1" all day long.

I've only used Varget (AR2208) in two rifles to date, a Mauser 98 in 10.75X68 Mauser and a Marlin 45/70. In the 10.75 I managed to get 2300+fps from 347gr projectiles and 2100+fps from 400gr Woodleighs. In the 45/70 Marlin, I currently load 400gr Speers to an easy 1800 fps and 2MOA accuracy. To date, all my experimentation using Varget (AR2208)has been successful with a minimum of fiddling about. When my CZ550 comes back from the gun doctor I'll find out what Varget (AR2208) will do in the 458 Lott.
Cheers...
