Accuracy potential of the 6.8
Anyone have real world experience with the accuracy of this round? I've shot a lot of very accurate ARs when the barrel was free floated and was wondering if the 6.8 was as accurate?

i had the honor to break in a match upper in 6.8 for a friend he supplyed the ammo i supplyed the time .what a friend when finnished with the break-in i worked up some reloads for him to hunt pigs with.i was amazed at how accurate it was with hornady and rem factory reloads and reloading for it was a snap also.he told me his nephews used it to take a truck load of hogs and none took more than 1 shot.i might try some thing like that one day with a 95 spanish i got laying arround.if i remember it shot groups at 100 yards you could cover with a dime and get some change.

6.8 has every bit as much potential to be accurate as any other cartridge under the sun. A bullet leaving the bbl has no memory whatsoever of what's stamped on the case head.

I have a Remington M700 Police Tactical with
a 20 inch barrel in 6.8 SPC.

I really like it. I have found it
to be a very accurate and efficient round.

Did you chronograph that load, just curious as I've only seen figures for the 115 gr. bullet.

velocity is like a new car, always losing value.
BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

I chronographed my hunting load, which is
29 grains of H322 and the Nosler 130 Solid Base.
This load is right at max on my rifle.

2550 fps.

Doc, what kind of groups do you get with it at 100 or 200 yards?

1/2 MOA on the 27.5 grain load.

3/4 to 1 MOA with the 29 grain load.

Thanks Doc, good info. By the way have you heard of anyone using the 6.8 in an AR platform?

That is it's primary application.

You have to be a real rifle nut to have
a bolt gun for this cartridge.
