<Puddle>What's the velocity of this .375HH load?
I don't have a chronograph, but usually I can figure out pretty close what the general velocity of a load is by shooting targets at 100, 200, & 300 yards and then going to the trajectory tables. But this load has me stumped.
The load is .375HH using a 270 grain AFrame with a B.C. of .349 and a charge of 75 grains of RL15. The round is fired through a 24" barrel and is consistently 2" high at 100 yards and 2.25" - 2.5" low at 200 yards.
I can't figure out based on the tables I have just what the ball park velocity of this load is. Anyone know?

boltmanI use 73 grains of RL15 behind a 260 gr partition to get 2740 out of my 24" barreled M70. I'd guess you would get at least that and maybe 30-40 fps more out of your 75 gr load.

<Don Martin29>At
http://www.alliantpowder.com they show 73.4 grs at just under 2700.
I don't like over max loads in a serious cartridge like that.

<Puddle>boltman, I get your reasoning with the partition, but the trajectory I'm getting is closer to the behavior of around 2300-2400. Very weird.
