6.5-06 loads??
I will be picking up a tight neck 6.5-06 in a week or 2 and need load reccomendations.
The powder I have in stock is H4831SC, H4350, H414, and IMR 4064. I have an assortment of Sierra MatchKings and Game Kings.
How do the 140 Partitions shoot?
Any input would be helpful.

RL 22 seems to be the best all around powder for this cartridge. I use it in both my 6.5-06 and 6.5 Gibbs rifles with the 140 grain bullets. Start at 50 grains and work up from there. My 6.5-06 max's out around 53.0 grains.

The Sierra bullets will undoubtedly give the best grouping however, the Nosler 140 Partitions do group in the .5 to .6's in both the rifles and maintain that accuracy over a distance.

I also get best results out of RL 22 in my 6.5 Gibbs. The loads I shoot range from 54 to 57grains (2850 to 3050fps), and I primarly use 140 grain Sierras. I have used H4831SC, but the accuracy was not as good as RL 22.

A friend of mine has a 6.5/06. If he reads this, I expect he will post his loads for you. As I am still waiting for him to post on the Spear Hunting forum , I will take a stab at it.

His main hunting load is 55gr of RL 22, with 140gr Nosler Partitions and non-magnum primers. He gets pretty dang close to 3000fps with this load, and it shoots little bitty dime sized groups. This load is not "too hot" his rifle (no pressure signs whatsoever), but would probably be exceeding safe limits in others. His is based on .270 length brass, so he gets a longer neck, and it also has a very long throat so he can seat those long bullets WAY out.
