<landtrain>difference in caliber
What is the differences in the .43 Spanish and the .43 Egyption. Is there a site where I can obtain some measurements of each to compare against my casting. TIA.

ricciardelliBasic differences:
.43 Spanish
Actual cartridge designation is 11.15x58Rmm
Original military load was 375 grain bullet with 78 grains of black powder for a velocity of 1380 FPS.
.43 Egyptian
Actual cartridge designation is 11.43x50Rmm
Original military load was 400 grain bullet with 75 grains of black powder for a velocity of 1330 FPS.
The .43 Egyptian is interchangable with the 11x52Rmm Beaumont, the .43 Spanish is not.

<landtrain>Thanks much. I can get a better idea what I have with the case length measurements. 8mm is quite a lot.
