300 WSM loads for BAR
Would appreciate some help with proven loads for this rifle. Want a load for whitetails 100 -200 yds.

Thanks

Not to hijack your thread, but why the devil would anyone choose to chamber, much less buy, a WSM cartridge in the BAR?

The advantage of the WSM line is the ability to place a more powerful cartridge in a shorter action, thus allowing a shorter, lighter overall rifle, which has the advantages of portability and some say balances better (worthy goals in many respects).

But if the same action/rifle handles a .300 Winchester Magnum, which achieves higher velocities at the same pressures, or similar velocities at lower pressures, why would one want a WSM cartridge instead, which has the disadvantages of higher ammunition cost, scarcer ammunition availability, and less magazine capacity? It just doesn't seem to make any sense. What am I missing?

Again, pardon me for straying so far from the question you posed, and I don't intend to give any offense, but I'm having a hard time rationalizing the marriage of the WSM and BAR.

Stonecreek...I just kike the way the BAR feels. Besides I relaod my own so ammo cost is a non starter. In addition, I have always wanted a BAR and I got a hell of a deal on my 300WSM. The added advantage of low recoil was an added bonus.

Does that answer your questions?
