Have a couple boxes of Win ammo, but would like to find some brass, bullets to build a supply to keep on hand. All input appreciated.

Hornady makes a 200 grain flat point #3410

61 grains of IMR-4350 will get you about 2,500 FPS

Now to find brass!~

Thanks for the feedback. I did find two boxes of Winchester ammo at an "unreasonable" price, but at least that will get me going. I'll get some of those bullets you mention plus local fellow casts bullets of good quality and that may be the way to go.

If you plan for a high end hunt with your model 71, then you should consider loading with North Fork 348 bullets. They are outstanding.

Starline Brass makes .50 Alaskan cases.

The .50 Alaskan is the .348 necked up to .50 caliber. You'd just neck it back down.

Looks like the smallest lot is 250 cases which isn't real cheap.

I've seen it formed from .45-70 cases, but I wouldn't really reccomend it.

Alaska Bullet Works makes bonded bullets for the .348 right here in my hometown.
