I'm looking for something with .85 grn bullets for the .243 also looking for something with 150 grn loads that will work in my Browning BAR 30-06 (it's a carbine with a 20"bbl) and 150 grn for my Browning BLR, also 20" bbl.
I was considering the possibility of rebarreling the blr to .284 with a 22" bbl., what problems would one encounter doing this ? are clips available and would the action rails need to be opened to do this ?

Hi I'm form Australia and I am currently working up loads for my 308, Winchester pre 64 M70 featherweight.

I am using 150 gr Winchester silvertips and 43.5 grs AR 2206 (Australian powder sold in US under the Hodgdon brand, see http://www.adi-limited.com/handloaders-guide/equivalents.asp )

This seems to produce around 2,760 to 2,800 fps in a 22" barrel (see http://www.reloadersnest.com/detail.asp?CaliberID=57&BulletWeight=150&LoadID=9054 and http://www.reloadersnest.com/detail.asp?CaliberID=57&BulletWeight=150&LoadID=9055 ) though I haven't chronographed the load in my rifle. It is shooting 1" @ 100 yards and 2" @ 200 yards for 3 shot groups. With my rifle sighted 1" high @100 yards it is 2" low @ 200 yards.

I intend to use this load on pigs (boar) on an upcoming trip to western Queensland.

358, My .243Win. (Ruger #1) is particularly accurate with 42 to 43gr. IMR 4350 and Sierra 85gr. SP's and Hornady 87gr. BTSP's. If you've a taste for experimentation, you can try milsurp IMR 7383 ($7/lb.) with the aforementioned bullets, but start at 41gr. (on the cusp of 3,000 fps) and don't exceed 43gr. ...Maven

I'll throw in with Maven on the 7383. I've had good accuracy with 7383 in the 243 with bullets in the 80s. I don't know about exceeding 43 grs.I haven't been able to get that much into the case. You might be able to if you use a doll rod and a hammer but not a boat tail bullet. Mag. primers might be a good idea also. roger
