Which Flach hole deburring tool??
I am going to buy a flash hole deburring tool. Any suggestions?

Thanks, MM

Montana,

I use the RCBS. It is adjustable to the correct depth and it works just fine.

MM,
I've been pleased with my kit from Sinclair International. Includes large and small rifle bits and a power adaptor for a cordless screwdriver. A bit spendy, however, it seems to get the job done.

Regards, Matt.

The Lyman one is only about $13, and you can use it for all calibers. With some deburring tools, you have to buy different collets for each caliber. The Lyman one is tapered, so you adjust the length and go. I've done literally thousands of cases with it, no problems.

I agree with the Lyman one. It works real easy and is very inexpensive.

I've used the K&M tool for several years now. What I like most is it's self-bottoming so you get the same, exact cut regardless of overall cartridge length.

I own both the Lyman and K&M, which I acquired lately. Since, the latter is used most often as it requires no adjusting when switching calibers.

Thanks for all the fast info.

I'll go with the K & M. I like the fact that it indexes on the inside bottom of the case rather than the case mouth.

Lock,Stock, and Barrel sells the Pro model made of brass and steel for $14.50.

K&M gets my vote also.
I bought it and a Lyman about the same time.
Lyman first I think.
The brass has to be trimmed to the "exact" same length for the Lyman to cut a consistent flash hole. It has kept it's place in the drawer all these years . . .unused.
The K&M has a stop collar on the cutter to control cutting depth. Simple but effective.
I was concerned about dulling the K&M's cutter so I bought an extra at the time.
It is now something close to 15 years later and the exra cutter is still unopened.

As an aside I have trimmed a lot of different brands and calibers of brass including military and so far 22 Hornet has consistently had the worst burs. With that small case capacity I would think it would have the most effect on creating variations.

Just an opinion of course!
