7mm super mag
I just purchased a used silhouette pistol in 7 mm super mag (necked down 357 mag). The dealer did not have any reloading data. I checked the internet, but could not find any info on reloading. Can anyone help me with any reloading data on this cartridge?

Thanks, Bob

The inventor only looked at the 256 Win Mag for a reference it seems.

My 7 super mag is a 357 Max neck down to 7mm. You can use 7 TCU data for reloading purposes. There are two 7mm super mag's chamberings. If your barrel or gun is a contender the dies must read 7mm super mag T.C.. You may want to make a casting of the chamber to make for sure what you have. Some people have told me that they used 7 TCU dies for reloading. I had a friend sale me his dies and barrel. Redding wants $120 and Hornday wants $90 for a set of dies. Both want three brass fired cases before making your dies. You will find that use dies are hard to find. The 7mm super mag went down hill when the 7mm TCU came on the scene. Because the 223 brass was cheaper that 357 Max brass. Hope this helps, Twyman

Tyman,
Thanks, I thought I was losing my memory. I had a supermag and it was also on a 357 max case, I didn't know there was one made on a 357 mag case. I used TCU dies on my supermag and never had any issues. I liked that barrel alot, but it got traded off somewhere during my XP-100 stage...

Thanks for the information. You both maybe correct. I have the dies coming from the dealer. I will check them out to see if the cartridge is realy a 357 Max brass or 357 mag.

Thanks again,

Bob
